Taxonomy Name: Dendrobium gayoense
Section: Calcarifera
Origin: Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia (Endemic)
Habit: epiphyte on trees in montane forest, 1 – 10 meters above the ground.
Altitude: 1 400 – 2 000 meters above sea level
Etymology: named from the Gayo Highland in Central Aceh
Similar orchids: Dendrobium fitrianum; Dendrobium kruiense
